Old News
This is the Old News page (oxymoronic, isn't it?). Here you'll find old news entries for the NS website (although edited somewhat, at times). Note that Neonotso Studio used to be called Shadow Enterprises and sometimes you'll see me referring to it as such (or as SE) in these old news entries.

Hello! I've decided I'll give you all the answer to the "What do you have to do to be saved?" poll. Most of you got it right, so that's great! The correct answer was "Believe (trust in) the Gospel". The Gospel is plainly laid out in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (New International Version)
"1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand
2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,"
Also, I'd like to mention that the 3D character making is going well. No, I haven't started work on the characters for TXQ yet (as far as 3D modeling goes), but I am working on a tutorial. I think this is going to turn out great!
One last thing: I've uploaded a new recording of "My God"! This one is a lot better than the old one. It's in a higher key, and there's some better phrasing and such. You can check it out from the Songs page.
That's all for now,

Hi all! We've made yet another few changes. First off, I've renamed Neon-V3 to Actopia4. It's now part of the Actopia Series. I think it's a better title. After all, you play over half the game as Neon-V4, not Neon-V3. Also, it follows the Actopia Series story, whereas The Xykonian Quest does not. So, it would be more sensible to group it in with the Actopia Series.
Also, I think we've decided that Neonotso and Ronyk will not be a lizard and rat, but rather, Neonotso will be some sort of bird, and Ronyk hasn't yet decided what he wants to be, except that he wants to be a rodent. If I figure out what specific bird Neonotso will be or what rodent Ronyk will be, I'll post an update here.
Another thing: during the time I was changing Neon-V3 to be called Actopia4, I also made some changes to the game itself. So, if you previously downloaded Actopia4 when it was called Neon-V3, you may want to download it again.
Hmm... I think that's all for now. Talk to you later!

Hey everyone! How have you all been? Ronyk and I are thinking that we will actually be making 3D characters for TXQ. It would be that we'd make them in 3D, then import the various frames of the animations into our 2D game-making program for use in TXQ. If we did make the characters in 3D, we may also be able to have some 3D cutscenes in the game! So, I'll be working towards trying this out, and I'll tell you all if things progress well.

Haha, I've finally gotten "I Need Your Help Again" uploaded! Oh, and I didn't say it specifically on my last post, but you can listen to "Thank You, Lord".
Also, I have some new polls up on the left (if you refresh the page, a different one will probably be there - the polls "rotate"). Feel free to vote on as many of the polls as you like. Also, if I get a few more votes for the "What do you have to do to be saved?" question, I'll tell you what the correct answer is.

I've finished a new song! You can check it out from the Songs page. It is called "Thank You, Lord".

There have been some updates to the pages of the NS website today and yesterday. A few you might want to check out are the Projects, Pictures, Characters and Songs pages.

Hello everyone! TXQ is coming along well. Progress is sort of slow, but it's there. I remember the original Neon-V3 was made in about 2 months. But, of course, it was a small game and wasn't very well put together, either. Anyway... On TXQ, I've started making something that'll help me to make levels easier, so hopefully you all will be able to have some good, well-designed levels. You see, normally, level designing is one of the least fun parts, so now I've changed the way I make the levels so that it's more fun.
I don't know if I mentioned this yet, but I'm getting singing lessons now. It's going very well! I think I might have gotten more progress in these last 2 or 3 months than in the year prior. Maybe sometime next month or so, I'll upload some more clips of the songs I've written. It'll be nice to be able to sing them with good technique. I'm making amazing improvements! I'm thankful for what God is doing in my life.
So... I guess that's it for today's entry,

Okay, the links for the songs are fixed. The mp3 player isn't there anymore, but it's not like it was needed anyway. Once at the "Children of God" or "My God" pages of the site (linked to from the Songs page; they are the only songs here you can currently listen to), it should be pretty easy to figure out how to listen to them.
July 12, 2007
Unfortuantely, the new mp3 player thing isn't working today. Just bear with me as I try to get this fixed.
July 11, 2007
I made some updates to the site today. You can listen to "Children of God" and "My God" by going to their respective pages from the Songs page. There's an mp3 player type of thing there. To play a song, simply click on the name of the song which you'd like to listen to inside the mp3 player.

The NS universe is definitely changing! It's for the better, though, so don't worry. Our latest game, which used to be known as The Xytokian Life is now called The Xykonian Quest. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't seem the game will have Xytokians in it. Remember, we are in an early phase of developement for this game, so that's why you may see some drastic changes to our ideas for TXQ.
Also, I said I'd tell you what animals Neonotso and Ronyk are going to be if things progress well, and they have, so I'll tell you. Neonotso is going to be a Basilisk Lizard, and Ronyk will be a rat. This info is on the Characters page, as well.
I think I already said it in a previous post, but the NS forum is up and running again. Soon, it will be linked to from the Navigation menu. For now, you can go there from this link, though: LINK.
That's all for now. I've got some updating to do on the rest of the site.
Ciao,

Hey everyone! We're doing a major change to the NS universe! It won't affect the website too much, but it'll affect the games. Ronyk and I have decided that the NS games will be separate from the Shadow Enterprises games (Neonotso Studio used to be called Shadow Enterprises. That's why when you download the Actopia Series or Neon-V3, you see it says "Shadow Enterprises presents...").
The SE games were too much like Sonic the Hedgehog games, where there are Emeralds and a floating island and such, so now starting with TXL, the first NS game, there will be no more Maximino Emeralds, no floating island and the SE games won't be a part of the NS story - they'll be separate. I'm going to be changing character names, appearances, positions/roles (as in, what they do, or who they are) and stuff. It's going to be cool! Also, if things go according to plan, Neonotso will no longer be an echidna and Ronyk won't be a hedgehog. If things progress well, I'll tell you what animals they'll be in my next post.
Things are going great,
Neonotso

Hello people! I'm working on getting TXL set up so that you can interact with others over the internet. Once I do that, I'll be that much closer to getting a Beta up on here that you guys can download and try out and test things on! Anyway, I'm glad that it hasn't been a month or two since my last entry.
'Tis all I'll write for now,

June 2, 2007
Hi everyone! I just got back from vacation. I had a great time! I didn't really work on TXL while we were there, though. I did, however, spend some time on vocal practice, although I seem to have lost some ground since we left to go there. Oh, and I guess I haven't yet mentioned that I've been getting lots of help with my singing from the people on the Jesse Nemitz forum. Mostly Dante and Josh (CunoDante and BeyondTenor) have been helping. Just over the past month or so, I've improved quite a lot! I'm very thankful to have such great help!
I haven't re-recorded any more songs yet, but my Dad now wants me to record them so that he can make a CD and send it to some of our relatives, so I'll probably be recording more somewhat soon. If you want to listen to any of the songs, or get some more info on the songs, you can check out the Songs page.
Ciao,

Wow, time sure flies by! It's already been nearly 2 months since my last entry! The basics of TXL's movement system are complete. This movement engine is a lot better than the last one. You'll have nice smooth control and slopes! This is the first movement system I've had that has working slopes that don't mess up other parts of the engine (thanks to some people from Clickteam's forum, including Pixalatio). I've also started working on the custom character system (and working on this will be easier thanks to Ronykeerie). So, there's certainly been some progress.
Also, I've started re-recording some of my songs (only 1 so far - "My God"). I'm hoping to have the best songs re-recorded within about 2 weeks, because most of the clips skip quite a bit.
'Til next time,
Neonotso
March 13, 2007
So, it turns out not much work was done to the site after all, although the button links are fixed. I guess I don't really enjoy working on the site as much as I enjoy making games (and I forget to work on the site sometimes). That means, however, that you'll get more game updates and that might be the very reason you're here in the first place - for the games. The game that is now in development is The Xytokian Life, for those who don't know. It is the game that follows Neon-V3, coming back about where it left off. It also is the first game I've made that has an online mode, where you can play and chat with other people via the internet.
Ronyk, is very excited about this! I don't know how many times he's said "How come you're not working on your game?". Anyway, the game's still in an early phase of development, but I'm hoping to have a release a Beta version soon which you all can download and try out. You could even register an account and maybe get a head start raising your character. If you want, you could send any suggestions or comments to the NS forum (which, although it says it's closed, you can still post in it and it won't get you in trouble or anything - I run the forum), which you can go to here: Neonotso Studio forum.
Anyway, I guess I'm off to work on TXL!
February 16, 2007
Hey everyone, if you see some strangeness on this site, it might be because I'm hoping to re-design it and I may be trying different things. Today I changed the navigation buttons a bit, but I'm planning to make some bigger changes. Just thought I should tell you all. I don't want you freaking out or thinking that the website is messed up. Oh, and at the moment of writing this, the navigation buttons don't go to the correct links. I should be able to fix that before I go to bed.
Till next update,
Neonotso
February 13, 2007
Okay, so I haven't worked on the site much, but you might be glad to know I've been working on The Xytokian Life. Currently, I'm working on a new movement system, which will allow me to more easily add lots of different characters that you can play as. Also, I did get SWiSHmax, so once I figure out how to use it and all that, perhaps I could add some Flash stuff to the site.
Did any of you notice the ads on the site, by the way? They were generated by my web hoster. When I first starting using their service, there were no ads, but now they've added them. So, I'm moving my files to another web host. Gradually, I'll move over to the new host completely, so there'll be no ads.
That's all for now,
Neonotso

Today I'm updating this site. There's lots of things on it that are no longer accurate or that could use some improvements. For instance, I still had some spots that called this place Shadow Enterprises! Hopefully, I'll be able to add some of the good color choices and gradients from the forum to the site, too. Also, I may investigate getting a website url such as neonotso.com, but I don't think you guys should really expect it because it might be expensive.
Hey, I just thought of something. There's a really good program for making things in Flash called SWiSHmax. I should check it out and see if that would be a good thing to get and use to improve the site. I think it would be cool to have some good graphics and interactiveness.
Keep checking back here for updates,
Neonotso
January 26, 2007
Hey all,
No, I didn't vanish off the face of the earth - I'm still here. I've actually been writing in my journal recently, so that's part of the reason I haven't been updating this place. Updating the site is sort of like journal writing. But, I can't blame all of my not being here on my journal, so I'm sorry if anyone was wanting an update on things here at NS.
The Xytokian Life is coming along great! We got Multimedia Fusion 2 and now game-making is a lot easier. I'm basically convinced this game will have an online mode, as I had previsouly mentioned it might on the NS forum (which is now closed, by the way). For the online mode, you'll be able to make a custom character, which you can then play as in the various levels and gain experience which can increase your level. Online mode will be free, thankfully, because someone my Dad works with gave us some space on a server he has. If this game ever gets really popular, though, with thousands of players, I don't know what I'll do because we may need more servers. But, hopefully, I'll still find some way to keep it free.
Also, TXL may have something I currently am calling XZ Mode. It's where you use all of the Xytok-Zhah (basically an energy source that is discussed in the game) that you have to power yourself up to a state where you are faster, stronger and can use your ultimate attack! XZ Mode goes away somewhat quickly over time, though, and once it does, you'll be left without any Xytok-Zhah. Xytok-Zhah are also your "extra lives", however, so if you don't take caution how you use XZ Mode, it may cost you your life.
Some characters that will be in the game include: Neonotso, Ronyk, Yale, Nez, Zykto and Sift. Neon, Ronyk, Yale and even Zykto have been in previous games, but the other characters are all new in TXL. There are of course other characters in the game, some of which play major roles, that I'd rather keep secret for now. Planets you'll be able to visit include: Actopia, Kolanka and Qarnon; of which, Actopia is the only one ever seen in previous NS games. Custom characters will be able to be customized from: hedgehogs, echidnas, foxes and more.
Ronyk is helping quite a bit with this game, not only giving ideas and helpful insight, but is even customizing some characters and doing some coding. I am certainly grateful for his help. I will have another animal for TXL partially because of him (and because of some people on SFGHQ). He's making its shading and such match more with the style of the rest of the characters. He also was the one that came up with the custom character idea for online mode, which was definitely a great idea!
So, I'm glad to be updating the site again! I'm still writing the story for the game, but perhaps I'll have a demo out sometime soon (I'll give myself a few months) that may even have the online mode. Another thing, when the online mode is up, if you see someone named Neonotso, it's me. Or, if you see Ronykeerie, it's Ronyk, etc.
Ciao for now,
Neonotso
November 20, 2006
Hello again everyone.
Now that Neon-V3 is finished, I've been working on The Xytokian Life. So far, it's coming along pretty good. I've found some good tutorials from Clickteam and I've also received help from Ronyk, who isn't exactly an MMF professional, but happened to notice (or figure out) something that I didn't. Both of these things helped very much! And besides the tutorials from Clickteam, I also find helpful the tutorials of Sonic Fan Games HQ, which, although for MMF 1.5 and not MMF 2, still have some great information, tips and ideas.
Also, just today I discovered that a thing I was doing that I thought would improve my voice actually, it seems, would damage it. I had been doing this for about a few days now. Eventually, I wondered why I had a hissing sound in my voice. So, I asked the people of the Jesse Nemitz Forum about it, and although not completely confirmed, it would seem that this is indeed what was causing the hissing.
Anyway, that's all for now. Bye!

Ok, the new Neon-V3 is linked up now. You can get it from the Games page. Also, I'll be linking up two more patches - one which replaces the new Neon-V3 with the Hard difficulty version of the new Neon-V3 and one that replaces the Hard version with the Normal difficulty version. If you have any trouble, questions, suggestions or the like concerning Neon-V3, you can go to the Neon-V3 thread on the NS forum and post there. I have the forum set up so that only members can post, however, because I heard that if you allow guests to post, they can use swear words as their names! And, I definitely wouldn't want that!
Hasta Luego (See you later)!

Neon-V3 has been finished! If you haven't checked the SE Forum, you're probably wondering what I'm talking about because I said that Neon-V3 would probably never be finished. But, I have indeed been working on it in these past couple of days and it is now finished! There is a Normal and Hard difficulty version of the game. I have not yet put up any links to download the actual games themselves, as of yet, but I have added a patch to the Games page under the section for Neon-V3 that replaces the old Neon-V3 with the normal difficulty version of the new Neon-V3. If you do not have the old Neon-V3, you can download it at SFGHQ (see the "January 23, 2006" entry on this page for details on how to download - it's easy). Then, you can update it using [this link has been removed by myself (Neonotso) because the update patch for Neon-V3 is no longer linked up], which can also be found on the Games page.
Enjoy!

I'm writing this to say that I changed the words for the ending of "Children of God" and also changed a word in "I Need Your Help Again" - I changed the word "one" in the verse that says "I know You are the only one" to "God". I might add to this entry, but for now, this is all...
October 15, 2006
Hi everyone!
The new Shadow Enterprises forum is open! The forum now has a nice color scheme and layout and there are some topics open. I will be adding to it pretty regularly, if possible. You can check it out here! Ronyk has joined the forum too, by the way.
That's all for now,
Neonotso
October 13, 2006
I'm working on a new forum for Shadow Enterprises! It should be up soon (really! ...not like Neon-V3N)! On the forum, I'll have information on SE games, SE projects and the songs I've written, and you'll be able to make your own comments and suggest things for SE games that have not yet come out. There's also a place to ask questions about singing or answer questions that others have.
I hope you all like the forum!
October 10, 2006
Hi people! I have some updates... Yesterday, I put up a poll and added pictures to the pictures page.
October 6, 2006
Hello everyone! Didja miss me? Well, I sort of hope you didn't because you'd be disappointed. I haven't made a new message on this site in about 5 months! Well, I updated the site's look. I think you'll find it a lot better... I certainly did! So... I haven't been working on game-making much. And, I have certainly not been making Neon-V3N. I don't know if I'll ever finish that. It's sort of like, "Why should I update this old game with all this bad programming and such when I can make a new game?"
So, although I probably won't be game-making for at least another month, I've started work on a new game, The Xytokian Life or TXL for short. It's basically a combination of Neonotso's Continuous Transformation and the Salvation game (thanks to all those who voted in the poll!). I think you're going to be able to gain physical level-ups for getting into your next version or becoming stronger etc and you can gain spiritual level-ups. And, truthfully, I'm not completely sure what the spiritual level-ups will do yet. Also, there's a much improved movement system and there's going to be unlockable characters, 1-player mode, a 2-player co-op and a 2-player battle mode.
That's all for now!
Neonotso
May 14, 2006
Ok, I was wrong... Neon-V3N didn't come out after a few days... It is seemingly almost finished, but I might not be able to work on it for a while. I'm going to be in a talent show soon, and I'm probably going to be practicing for that quite a bit. Also, I think I might make a side-game, though probably not a full game, to be sort of a partner game for Neon-V3 featuring Neonotso (as in, Neon-V7, Neon's ultimate version) as the main playable character!
Another thing, I made a new page called "How to get saved" for all of you non-saved people out there, or even for the people who think they might be saved, but aren't sure.
~May 1, 2006
Wow, I've been gone for a long time, haven't I? Well, hopefully none of you were looking for me. I've come to the conclusion that Neon-V3 is way too hard for most people to win. So, I'm going to try to release (hopefully within the next few days, but no promise here) an easier version of Neon-V3. I'm calling this Neon-V3E. For those of you who haven't been able to beat my game, hopefully this will help. Oh, actually, I'll release two versions Neon-V3N and Neon-V3E - N for normal and E for easy. The current version of Neon-V3 will be the Hard version. Hope you all enjoy this!
March 27, 2006
I'm back from vacation! I think I am pretty much completely ready to make my 3D game. So, hopefully all of you out there will be able to enjoy a wonderful 3D game!

Hey all! Neon-V3 is up on SFGHQ! Pretty cool, eh? Since the game is so big it's stored as two files. But, each file (on my computer, at least) downloads in about 10 seconds. Well, if you want to play it, you can click here to go to their site. From there, just go to the "Games" page and in the "Misc. Games" category you'll find "Neon-V3". Click on it to go to the page where the two downloads are.
January 11, 2006
Welcome to the new year everyone! I'm back and I had a great time! I still haven't heard from SFGHQ since I sent them the latest update for Neon-V3). Perhaps I will contact them.
Also, if I decide to make 3D games, I've found some good products to make them with. So, I might be able to make Salvation in 3D after all, but I still haven't decided what I'm going to do. After all, 3D isn't cheap... at least for quality 3D.
December 23, 2005
Ok everyone, the site is going great! I have a download link for Neon-V3 as well as instructions for downloading. And I've been adding lots of info in the "SEinfo" section and the "Characters" section! We also have pictures of Neonotso and of Neon-V3 in the "Pictures" section!
Another thing, I'll be gone for a while. So, although I should have a lap-top computer by the time I leave, I might not update my site or games while I'm gone.

Still adding all the stuff that was on the old Shadow Enterprises to the new Shadow Enterprises.
